ARCHITECTURE FIRM PARTNERS
The high concentration in San Francisco and the wider Bay Area of prestigious architectural offices, from large internationally based companies to small scale design experimenters, provides the faculty and students with a deep pool of supporters. Students get exposure to professionals in their offices as internship providers, and as reviewers and classroom hosts, whose contact and informal mentorship expands their understanding about their field and career path possibilities after graduation.
Internship Partners
The Internship Program enlists 16 to 24 firms each year who have been selected to provide a wide array of office typologies for different student experiences and on the basis of their demonstrated ability to provide high levels of mentorship and training. Several legacy firms have been continuous internship hosts since the 1988 founding of the program including BAR Architects, Gensler, HOK, and Arcanum. Review Partners
The Studio Project Review format relies on having 12-16 outside reviewers committed to a half day review schedule, working in teams of 3 or 4 to give every student a half-hour individual review. We are fortunate to have so many dedicated architects, planners, developers, landscape architects, and construction professionals participate in these reviews which occur twice per six-week studio segment.
